RIP ANNE BOLEYN 2026

  RIP Anne Boleyn 2026

Every year I try to remember Henry’s second, tragic queen. I’ve written about her in books, in poetry, and fiction.  Anne and Henry, Immortal Redemption, will be out soon on Amazon.

I have sections about her in Capital Punishment in Popular Culture; Toys, Games and Nursery Rhymes, Toying with Death, and in Warpaint, Ethics and Beauty.  I’ve read about her in conferences, done readings of her poetry, created art inspired by her. I discuss her in our recent book, Critical Sociocultural Examinations of Gender Discrimination and Persecution.

At first, few others were writing about her, but today, on the anniversary of her execution, social media is swamped with stories, posts, images, and reels.  Most seek to romanticize her, some are gruesome, many not accurate.

I add my two cents again to my blog and elsewhere, with a plea not to forget that she was a brave, educated, and accomplished woman.  She made one bad choice in men, and it cost her her life, her brother’s life, her reputation, and her family’s legacy.
