Wolf Hall
More on Wolf Hall and Anne Boleyn as soon as my computer and life issues straighten out. The ending two weeks ago with the execution of Anne Boleyn was pathetic and poignant, and Henry's reaction by embracing Cromwell, psychotic if not out and out mad.
More on Erzebet and my series of novels, too. There are many parallels in the lives of tragic women like these during The Renaissance and early Baroque. Mary Wollstonecraft would rail against them later in her Vindication of the Rights of Women.
Also, good summer reading for those interested in these areas of Women's Studies, try out The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Elizabeth George Speare, essays by Ann Rosalind Jones and Mary Ellen Lamb, books by Sarah Pomeroy, and Joan Aiken, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.
It is nearly the Solstice, Blessed Be.
