Automatons keep moving, no matter what!: The news was recently abuzz with an incredible story; Saudi Arabia made an android, or robot, a citizen. Ever since a 1797 brochure called Mr. Haddock’s Andorides was published about an exhibition of automatons, the fascination with this fusion of doll and machinery has never stopped. There are all kinds of horror films and novels about them, and dolls, for that matter. Automatons even have Facebook pages devoted to them. Wired magazine frequently writes about them, and artificial intelligence, in general, is a hot ticket today.
One of these is associated with a legend involving Erzebet. Yesterday was the she was allegedly confined to her castle.
This is a blog to explain in a legal and historical context the life and alleged crimes of Erzebet Bathory. We hope to be fair and enlightening to our readers. We welcome comments, but remain family friendly.

2017 Lights On Tour at Terror at Skellington Manor! We Love You!
Here is my favorite all time haunted house, and de facto doll museum. The animatronics are to die for, and the dolls on display grown in number every year. What I love is the hospitality and creativity, and the fact that the dolls are cared for. The staff is truly interested in them, and often asks me about them when I visit. This year's Theater of the Macabre theme was very literary, with entire rooms devoted to literary and library themes. The green mist room was sheer genius. Happy New Year to my favorite ghoulies, and here, with their gracious permissions, are this year's photos, taken by my husband, Dino Milani. Thanks, Penny, and everyone at Terror at Skellington Manor!

The Terrror with Jack Nicholson
I've seen this film before, many years ago when I was maybe ten. There is an Erzebet allusion in it; a lovely Baroness dies violently, and her husband, played by Boris Karloff, is maddened by guilt. I can't say more without giving it all away, but the "meltingly" beautiful Baroness haunts everyone and is stuck in a crypt attached to a tower in an old castle. Sound familiar!! She is also dark haired and alluring, with mysteries associated with here. The film was made in 1963 and was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and Roger Corman. Sandra Knight played the Baroness.

Prince Harry's Royal Wedding
Does the Royal Wedding date strike anything odd in your heads? The date, May 19th, is the date another royal wife was beheaded in 1536; it is the execution date for Anne Boleyn, our own favorite.
Visit Hever Castle, her home, online, for all the events taking place there winter and Christmas. I think the Royal Wedding should be held there; it is a sort of tribute.
