Reading this book was like opening a family album. For the last 40 years, Lestat and his Vampire family have been part of mine, and he has provided me with opportunities to write professionally and critically about the Vampire Chronicles. The writing is superb; often a prose poem, and the characters are not without humor and pathos. The mystery of The Voice continues throughout the story; one is never bored. Shades of Beowulf and Shakespeare, and of every epic known to humanity flows as an undercurrent to this remarkable story. Well done! More, please!
