This is a blog to explain in a legal and historical context the life and alleged crimes of Erzebet Bathory. We hope to be fair and enlightening to our readers. We welcome comments, but remain family friendly.

Six Short of 1000
Thank you; we are six short of 1000 viewers! The Erzebet novel is going well; there is also a children's version of her story, which I illustrated, and the series Anastasia the Vampire based in part, on Erzebet/Elizabeth.
We welcome family friendly comments. I would also like to hear from Renaissance and Baroque scholars on this issue.
An interesting twist to the story is that while E. was accused of preying on local village girls, it was peasant women and villagers who suffered torture and excruciating deaths for the alleged crimes. Would like to trace holdings of the Bathory lands after her death, and I'd like to see deeds and extant papers.
